OVERVIEW
Being the virtual admins for a global internetwork
incorporating Microsoft, Cisco, Linux and other technologies,
delegates will be involved with implementation and decisions faced
within many live, real-time situations. Responsible for the implementation
of Microsoft into the internetwork and its many services, delegates
will implement the course curriculum into a live internetwork
ensuring thorough and correct understanding.

Core Examination: 70-216 (Implementing and administrating
a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure).
Elective Examination: 70-221 (Designing a Microsoft®
Windows® 2000 Network Infrastructure).
PREREQUISITES
Candidates must have attended the Windows 2000 Professional and
Server Support course or have in- depth knowledge of these two
operating systems. Have knowledge in TCP/IP networks, DNS, WINS,
and DHCP, name resolution and how domain/forest environments work.
COURSE TOPICS
· Network topology, technologies and service needs
· Implementation of Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
(DHCP)
· Designing fault-tolerant DHCP network services
· Routing for the Internetwork, including static and dynamic
routing
· IP addressing, subnetting, CIDR and route summarisation
· Name resolution services including WINS and DNS
· Implementing name resolution services within a mixed
internetwork
· Creating fault tolerant servers using backup and replication
server designs
· Virtual Private Networks (VPN), network tunnelling and
secure remote communications
· Remote access, dial in policies and good practice
· Network security protocols, authentication and accounting
· Public key infrastructure (PKI), encryption schemes and
Certification Authorities (CA)
· Extending remote access with use of Internet Authentication
Server (IAS)
· Implementation and design of Internet protocol security
· Configure Internet assess using NAT and ICS for the internetwork
· Configuring Web Services using IIS and extended web server
functionality
· Manage a Windows 2000 network using tools and utilities
· Use of Proxy and ISA servers in a Windows 2000 Network
· Resolving network connectivity problems by using Windows
2000 troubleshooting tools and utilities
