Overview
The LPIC-1 certification is geared toward system administrators who are unfamiliar with Linux based systems and wish to learn the necessary skills to maintain them. It is a well recognised vendor neutral qualifcation that provides the candidate with all the knowledge they need to gain a foothold in the Linux arena.
The LPIC-1 certification tests a wide variety of skills required to maintain a Linux based network, ranging from Hardware & Architecture, Linux Installation & Package Management, GNU & Unix commands Devices, Linux Filesystems, Filesystem Hierarchy Standard and The X Window System in the first module, to Kernel, Boot, Initialization, Shutdown and Runlevels, Printing Documentation, Shells, Scripting, Programming, Compiling, Administrative Tasks, Networking Fundamentals, Networking Services and Security in the second exam.
