Experience Works is a programme of employability support and bespoke mentoring that helps 15 - 24 year olds to get into work, training or education, or supports them to stick with school or college if they are having difficulties. Part-Funded by the European Social Fund. The project will run until May 2023.

Our bespoke programme offers participants the opportunity to undertake fully funded training to support you through the steps of employability. Covering a wide range of personal development including self awareness, job searching, CV writing, basic administration, social media utilisation, effective communication, time management, team work, managing money, essential life skills and support systems through both theory and practical based learning.


Once the programme has been concluded you will receive support on finding further training or employment opportunities to keep you out of the NEET situation.

  • The young person must meet ALL of the following ESF criteria:

  • 15-24 years old

  • Must have the right to live and work within the UK

  • NEET or at risk of becoming NEET

  • Project activity must take place in Devon, Plymouth or Torbay

  • Not currently eligible for / able to access other provision e.g. Skills for Young People, Work & Health Programme

  • Able to be work ready within 12 months

Suitability (Participants should fulfill atleast two of the suitability criteria)

  • Resident within Devon, Plymouth or Torbay

  • Not on job-seeking-related benefits

  • Having very limited or no work-related experience

  • Living in a rural or isolated coastal area

  • Young (adult) carer

  • Care leaver

  • English as second language

  • Single parent

  • Ex-offender or offender

  • Having a learning difficulty or disability

  • Having a mental health condition

  • Having a physical impairment

  • Eligible for free school meals whilst in Year 11

  • Homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
